Hatay Belen Pass Soaring Bird Migration and Flight Safety

Belen Pass, also known as the Syrian Gates, is one of the few migratory bottlenecks in Turkey and the world. It is an important area for soaring migratory birds.

Within the scope of the project carried out between January 2000 and December 2000 at Belen Pass in Hatay, a flight safety report was prepared for Hatay Airport.

Within the scope of the project supported by the Hatay Special Provincial Directorate of Administration, birds were counted from different points in both the spring and autumn periods in order to determine the profile of the migratory birds passing through the Hatay Belen Pass during the migration period.
