Effective Use of Water Sources in order to Keep Ereğli Reeds Alive (2002-2004

While Ereğli Reeds or alternatively Ereğli Akgöl is one of the important wetlands of the Konya Basin, the area faced the danger of drying out as a result of wrong policies.

Within the scope of the work carried out between December 2002 and February 2004, it was aimed to minimize the waste of water used in agriculture and the city within the region in order to provide the water required for the restoration of the Ereğli Reeds, to raise the awareness of the local people on this issue and to provide partial rehabilitation of the wetland.
