Conservation and Monitoring of Sea Turtle Populations in Dalyan Beach Area

The project was carried out in Muğla, Köyceğiz between June 2010 and November 2010 and it was prepared for sea turtles, which is one of the endangered species due to increasing human pressure and predation.

Within the scope of the Project for the Conservation and Monitoring of Sea Turtle Populations in Dalyan Beach Area;

• Turtles’ landing points were detected and the detected turtles were marked,
• The nests were determined, the solid ones were caged and some of the nests were equipped with thermometers,
• Threatened nests were moved to established brood chambers,
• The hatchlings were counted and tracked,
